NOC Engineer (Part Time Night Shift) 32 hours (770) (10/16/2015)

 An Intermediate NOC Engineer needed Friday through Monday, 12 AM – 8 AM who has strong Tier I level network support experience, including emergency maintenance, day-to-day tracking and resolution from Tier I/II support, documentation, and prioritizing. Position requires an NOC Engineer to interface with internal and external customers and vendors to provide support, communicate and escalate issues and manage all SLA (Service Level Agreement) with clients.



  • Under moderate supervision, monitor applications, device availability, network conditions and status, system reliability and performance, service and program maintenance and storage resources for CNSI NOC and CNSI customer systems.
  • Assist in documenting systems configuration and upgrade procedures if necessary.
  • Assistance with documenting NOC related work instructions, network records, circuit records; by interfacing with Program Managers, Technical Publications, Customers, Field Personnel and Management.
  • Login or VPN into various systems to run performance reports and send them to large distributions.
  • Call in outside the shift for important meetings and training opportunities. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skill

Primary Skills

  • At least 5 years working experience.
  • 3+ years experience with Window products and PC applications.
  • 2-3 years working in NOC or call center environment.
  • Experience with Ticket system and FMS.
  • Must have very good knowledge of navigating Microsoft Outlook (web and client)
    • Proven problem diagnostic, problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
    • Detail oriented.
    • Ability to effectively communicate and receive detailed or important information and instruction.
  • Ability to use reasoning to troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
  • Flexible schedule availability for 24/7 support and emergencies as required.

Secondary Skills

Education Requirements:

  • Associate degree or at least High School diploma with 3 years experience required.
  • Certifications in network related tools and ITIL is preferred but not required.


Physical Demands:

  • Requires sitting and standing associated with a typical office environment.
  • Manual dexterity needed for using a calculator and computer keyboard.
  • Ability to use telephone equipment.
  • Ability to read computer screen with normal fonts.
