Gaithersburg, MD – May 14, 2014 – CNSI today announced its Health and Human Services Organization Unit has been appraised at Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) following an independent CMMI appraisal performed by CUNIX Infotech Pvt. Ltd.CNSI was formerly rated at CMMI Level 2; the new higher rating at CMMI Level 3 indicates that CNSI’s Health and Human Services software projects are developed at more predictable and improved costs, schedule and quality.CNSI’s CEO B. Chatterjee stated “This revered rating is not only an indication of our entire team’s commitment to performance excellence but also serves as a platform to provide high quality products and services to our customers.  Coincidently this validation comes as we are celebrating CNSI’s 20-year anniversary of innovation at work.”CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates the organization is performing at a “defined” level.  At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools and methods.

The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity level 3, is established and improved over time. “The appraisal is an enormous achievement for our company and translates to even greater value for our customers, ” said Vivek Gore, senior vice president at CNSI.  CMMI models provide guidance for developing or improving processes that meet the business goals of an organization. A CMMI model may also be used as a framework for appraising the process maturity of the organization. CMMI is the result of more than 20 years of ongoing work at Carnegie Mellon University by members of industry, government, and the Software Engineering Institute. Powered by Carnegie Mellon, the CMMI Institute is working to build upon CMMI’s success, advance the state of the practice, accelerate the development and adoption of best practices, and provide solutions to the emerging needs of busi-nesses around the world.
