The General Services Administration named 59 companies as winners of its $50 billion Alliant information technology contract. That’s 30 more winners than the agency picked in July 2007 when it awarded the contract the first time. That round of awards was protested, and a federal judge told GSA that they had not properly evaluated the bids. The agency reportedly was evaluating 62 bids this round for the governmentwide acquisition contract. Agencies will use the vehicle to buy a broad range of IT products and services. The contract has a five-year base with a five-year option.
