WHO: Lance Kelson, HIPAA Security Officer, CNSILance Kelson is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Project Management Professional (PMP). He has performed Certification and Accreditations (C&A) for applications implemented at the Department of Homeland Security and the Library of Congress. Kelson is also a faculty member of Webster University, teaching a graduate level Information System Security course. He received a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University and an M.B.A. in Finance and Operations Management from the University of Rochester.

WHAT: “Certification and Accreditation Made Simple”This presentation will emphasize how the risk to the organization in operating a system drives the accreditation decision. Kelson will outline a road map of the C&A steps, referencing the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards.
