ROCKVILLE, MD — CNSI today announced Arvinder Singh was selected by Federal Computer Week magazine to receive the Rising Star Award for his efforts in pioneering the industry’s first Web-centric Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS). The Rising Star program is modeled after the Federal 100 awards program to recognize future leaders in the government IT community. Chapter, recognizes young people in the IT community for their innovation, leadership and contributions. A panel of expert judges chose the winners from a pool of more than 180 nominations. Built on J2EE technology and an n-tier architecture, eCAMS is the only Web-centric MMIS in production today. In 2001, the State of Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) sought a replacement solution for its 30-year old MMIS. Comprised of obsolete technology, the legacy system had become increasingly difficult and costly to maintain. Singh led a team of more than 60 individuals ranging from programmers, quality assurance, business and functional analysts to design and implement Maine’s new Medicaid system. Singh and his team built the system from the ground up, leveraging the latest methodologies and software technologies in its design approach. Susan Fox, president of Fox Systems, has worked closely with Singh.

For 19 years, FOX Systems has provided consultation to federal, state, and local healthcare clients in the selection and implementation of IT solutions.
