The Business Intelligence (BI) Architect will work with a diverse team of healthcare functional / business analysts, developers, subject matter experts along with data scientists to strategically design, implement, support and enhance CNSI’s portfolio of business intelligence products and solutions. The position requires evangelizing self-service BI and visual data discovery by leveraging proven experience in reporting / analytics. Strong ability to help clients translate and progress BI solutions into measureable business outcomes is expected of this role.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Understand and interpret the healthcare policy changes and determine its relevance to Healthcare BI.
  • Analyze pertinent Medicaid (administrative) data to develop relevant use cases, translate them into working business requirements and help the team in prototyping, designing, developing and rolling out BI solutions ensuring high levels of availability through support functions.
  • Evaluate the reporting requirements for various business units across the organization leveraging proven knowledge of specialized reporting tools to recommend improvements to business / operational processes.
  • Liaise with the “core” BI / Data Engineering / Data Analytics teams, help understand the nuances of the healthcare datasets, facilitate the data analysis and provide design assistance for effective visualization techniques.
  • Act as an advocate of BI modeling methodologies, champion the role of a BI Architect by promoting best practices for tool use and develop related process and technical documentation.
  • Function as an integrator between business operation needs and BI / analytical solutions. Be able to engage and facilitate discussions between the client (business users) and the “core” BI / Data Analytics / backend teams.
  • Contribute and brainstorm new ideas (out-of-the-box thinking is a must) within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication (oral / written) skills and the ability to interact with multiple teams in a diverse setting encompassing both technical and non-technical users.
  • Present technical analysis to internal and external clients. Should be able to put together high level and detailed presentations to the target audience.
  • Interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner.
  • Continue enhancing own BI skills on new practices, frameworks and standards.
    • Mentor other BI professionals in enhancing their skills.

Required Skill

Primary Skills

  • 15+ years’ experience delivering business intelligence solutions.
  • 5+ years’ of Business Intelligence / Analytics skills in IBM COGNOS or outstanding experience in equivalent.
  • Ability to maximize technology expertise to deliver re-usable and scalable business process enhancements.
  • Strong experience in identifying and developing management reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Oracle 10g, 11g experience is a must.
  • Excellent experience in writing efficient SQL queries.
  • Proven record of accomplishment working in various aspects of the software development life cycle.
  • Should have outstanding communication and writing skills.
  • Candidates must be willing to work independently and/or as part of a team in an energetic, team-oriented environment managing systems of varying size/complexity with a fast turn-around time.
  • Apply innovation, creativity, and improvement to the development/support processes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively is a necessity
  • BS in Computer Science or related discipline 

Secondary Skills

  • Experience in a healthcare/insurance domain is preferred
  • Experience with State government projects is preferred
  • Experience working with Big Data solutions and/or data visualization is preferred
