State of Maryland - State Highway Administration

CNSI has been providing Oracle Database Administration services to the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) since 1999, first as a subcontractor and then as the prime contractor. Over the years, CNSI has expanded its services to include system development, system design and architecture, database administration, using PowerBuilder and migrating to internet/intranet based .NET applications and .NET web services from MS Access/ASP/dBASE/VB based applications.

These services spanned across multiple mission-critical, complex systems at this agency including:

  • eMAARS (electronic Maryland Automated Accident Reporting System)
  • CHART (Chesapeake Highway Advisory for Routing Traffic), COS (Cashier’s Office System), CPCS (Corporate Purchasing Card System)
  • RAIS (Rest Area Information System), Collision Diagramming, LAARS (Large Animal Accident Retrieval System)
  • Safety Net, which is sponsored by FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and maintained by the Volpe Center

CNSI was successful in addressing the unique, specific needs of each system, while ensuring the common, enterprise mandates, such as disaster recovery, scalability, security and eGOV. CNSI’s continued service for 10 years clearly demonstrates its high level of technical competency and world class service, which is further reflected in the letters of commendation we have received from this customer over the years.
