The creation of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in 2003 marked the largest reorganization of the federal government since World War II - the unification of 22 agencies into one all-encompassing agency. To add to this complexity, DHS needs to stay connected with an even larger number of state, local and tribal law enforcement and government organizations, federal civilian agencies, and the private sector.
DHS faces major challenges relating to interoperability and interdepartmental communications. Redundancy and duplication errors hamper efforts for consolidation and effective information sharing. Additionally, the agency struggles with how to effectively deliver integrated IT services to its constituencies.
CNSI is helping to build an organizational and technological infrastructure supporting DHS' mission-critical objectives. CNSI provides software development, IT infrastructure support and engineering solutions in support of DHS initiatives. We've assisted with the creation of an enterprise project management office that helped streamline IT service delivery and improve accountability.
